As you open the door you see a tall wooden cabinet on the left. It's made of light oak, and the doors are missing. It was probably a bargain at some marketplace awhile ago. The lack of doors hasn't stopped the cadet who owns it from putting it to good use – you see that she's rigged up pretty blue curtains with a purple pattern where the doors used to be. She must be using it as a closet.
A pair of ceremonial Amazon daggers is displayed on the right wall. They're crisscrossed, semiprecious stones gleaming in their small hilts. "I got those when my tribe officially adopted me," Eliahra says fondly, coming in the door behind you. "Pretty, aren't they? They're sharp right now, but the blades don't keep an edge very well. They're just for display and ceremonies." She pulls two similar but much more practical-looking daggers from her belt. "These are for fighting." She gestures to a corner, where a long staff of light-colored wood is leaning casually. "And my staff, of course." She puts the daggers away and goes to sit on her bed.
It runs the length of the far wall. It's only a typical cot, but she's covered it with a quilt made from Amazon fabrics and scraps of finer materials. It's colorful and looks warm. On the wall above the head of the bed 'Eily' is painted in loopy purple letters. "Oh, that?" she says, and looks at the wall. "Cheiron said I could do it as long as I paint over it before I graduate or move."
Leaning against the bed is a lute. A scroll on how to play is open in front of it, and from the way the edges look worn you can tell that Eily has spent a lot of time trying to learn how to play. "I still need practice," she admits, and picks the instrument up. "You might want to leave, it's about to get noisy." She strums a chord that doesn't sound quite right, and you exit the room to give her the practice time she obviously needs.
